Consolidation of divisions continued thru the 1930s & Late 1950s until there were 7 Divisions which were: Chicago; Illinois; Des Moines; Western; Missouri Kansas; Southern; Arkansas. By 1970, Divisions were down to 4: Illinois; Des Moines; Missouri Kansas; Southern; For A short period in 1974 for a period of about 14 months, the Divisions were expanded to 6. Illinois; Des Moines; Northern; Missouri Kansas; Southern; Arkansas. And from 1975 until the end of CRI&P RR Operation in 1980, there were four Divisions: Illinois; Des Moines; Missouri Kansas; Southern. From the Mid 1930s when Joint Texas Division was set up between the CRI&P and FW&DC (later FW&D, later CB&Q & finally BN). The Division was operated 5 years under by each owner on a rotating basis. The last operating period by CRI&P 1970 thru 1974. When CRI&P was declared cashless by the Government, the BN continued to operate it until CRI&P's half ownership was purchased by BN from the Trustee. George Durbala November, 2003
